We will draft the requested documents and will also act as a witness in the signing of your will.
We can arrange will storage for you if you decide on this option.
We can provide ongoing advice, to yourself and to your executors and trustees
Some of the matters we will discuss in detail during our meeting
Who you would like to appoint as Executor? This is important as this person(s) will have a duty to carry out your wishes, deal with any debts and also probate matters, amongst other things.
If you have young children it is important to appoint legal guardians for them, in case the worst case scenario happens. It is important to talk about this as sometimes both parents do not have the same people in mind. If you do not have a will for this, the courts would decide who is best placed to care for your children whom are under 18. Most people would not want something so important dealt with by the courts, however this is the case when the parents do not have a will.
Who should benefit from your estate and in what form? To make sure that only the people you wish to benefit will. Also if it is your children and they are too young, then we can discuss how the estate can be held in trust for them until a certain age.
Do you want anybody to receive some specific gifts or assets? If this is the case then it is important to declare this in writing to ensure they receive it and it is not put into the estate to be divided.
How would you like your funeral to be? Are there any specific wishes you have for your funeral? Would you like to be buried or cremated? Do you wish to have a funeral plan set up to take the stress and burden off your loved ones when it arises.
Will storage – Once you have a will it is important to know where it is so it can be located upon your death. This will ensure your estate is dealt with according to your wishes within the will. We can provide a safe will storage facility for you. We can discuss this service in more detail during the meeting.
